David didn't write this as a young man full of optimism. He wrote it as an old man who had seen everything — war, betrayal, poverty, abundance, the death of a child. He'd been hunted by a king, abandoned by friends, and watched his own son try to take his throne.
And after all of it? His testimony wasn't "life is easy if you follow God." It was this: God never left me. Not once.
The economy goes up. The economy goes down. You'll have seasons where the money flows, and seasons where you're watching every dollar. That's not a failure of faith — that's the rhythm of life. The question isn't whether the cycle will come. It's whether you trust the One who's been faithful through every cycle before this one.
David did. And he had the scars to prove it.
Prayer: Father, You've been faithful in every season — even the ones I couldn't see it in the moment. Help me trust Your track record more than my circumstances. Amen.
Reflect: When was the last time you looked back and realized God had been providing all along, even when it didn't feel like it?
