Jesus doesn't say your needs don't matter. He says they're not supposed to be your primary concern. There's a difference.
"Seek first" means before you check your bank balance, before you run the budget numbers, before you spiral about the bills — you orient your heart toward the kingdom. Not because finances aren't important, but because the God who runs the universe already knows what you need. He's not surprised by your electric bill.
This is where the rubber meets the road on trust. It's easy to seek the kingdom first when the account is full. The real test is whether you seek it first when the account is thin. That's not reckless — it's faith. And it's exactly what Jesus is asking for.
Prayer: Father, I want to seek Your kingdom before I seek my comfort. Remind me today that You already know what I need — and that You're faithful to provide. Amen.
Reflect: What would it actually look like for you to seek God's kingdom first this week — before your financial concerns?
